District Governor Visit

Our Club was pleased to host a visit from our District Governor, Iris Sullivan, on Sept. 18, 2017.

Bob Tremblett introduced District Governor Iris Sullivan. Iris was a Charter Member of the Rotary Club in Marathon, Ontario, in 1989 and moved to the Miramichi in 2007, where she joined the Rotary Club of Chatham. She has held various positions and has served three times as Club President in Chatham.

Her first career was nursing but later purchased two Robin’s Donuts franchises. She is a Paul Harris Fellow and has been Rotarian of the Year several different times. Iris views Rotary as her extended family...

District Governor Iris Sullivan gave an inspirational talk to the Club. She started with a direct message from RI President, Ian Griesley, and his theme of Making a Difference.

Since becoming DG, Iris has now visited 36 out of 40 Clubs in District 7810. Her goal is to strengthen clubs to partner with each other and partner with members of the community. One of her goals is to have Clubs collect volunteer hours and these can go toward a Presidential Citation.

Rotarians will shortly be receiving a survey with the results used to develop a strategic plan. Iris encouraged as many as possible to attend upcoming Rotary Conventions and Conferences.

Past President Robert Kimball thanked the District Governor.
