District Governor Visits

On Oct. 19, 2015, District Governor Wayne Wornes with his Sylvie visited our Club.

One of his first tasks was to present President Rob Driscoll, and the membership with a banner in recognition from the Rotary Foundation for it’s annual giving to the Foundation.

Each year the Club donates 5% of its net profit to the Foundation to further the great work of Rotary International. This past year, our Club was one of the top 1500 donors of more than 35,000 Clubs worldwide.

During his visit, District Governor Wayne had the pleasure of inducting three new members to the Club. From left to right are sponsor Past President Bob Tremblett, new members Greg Keith and Angela Cummings, President and Membership Chair Rob Driscoll, new member Ed Keith, sponsor Don Dow, and District Governor Wayne. To the membership’s recollection, this was the first time a father and son had been inducted at the same time.

There was an excellent turn out from the Club on Oct. 19 to welcome DG Wayne and Sylvie. During the meeting, President Rob took the opportunity to put a plug in for “End Polio Now” and to recognize World Polio Day on Oct. 24.
