
On a brisk, rainy Friday evening, September 18th, 2020, the Sussex Rotary descended on the local Giermindl's Old Bavarian Restaurant for what would be our inaugural fall Club social. With over thirty in attendance, the initially quiet evening warmed up like a wiener schnitzel as great German cuisine was coupled with great company and conversation.
German meals were served with a variety of traditional German beverages with which to enjoy them. The restaurant provided musical entertainment throughout the evening; first serving up a repertoire of traditional German backdrop music and, as crowd participation increased, shifted to less traditional 99 Luftballons, Der Piano Mann and Krokodil Rock.
Lots of conversation ensued and, while the dance floor was unavailable due to COVID restrictions, our very own Alex Coffin treated the facility to a sampling of his interpretation of time-honoured German choreography...
