The Commission has five objectives for a new local government system.
- Strengthen the capacity of local government while maintaining a community identity
- Fair and effective property taxation
- Increased collaboration, communication and planning between communities
- More equitable community funding arrangements
- Modernize legislative, local and regional decision making
The Regional Service Commission 8 Board is comprised of 4 Mayors, 6 Chairs and Alternative (Deputy Mayors). They meet every fourth Tuesday each month.
