Rhoda Wilson introduced Donna Gilchrist, Chair of our Club Rotary Foundation Committee as our speaker on May 7, 2018.
Donna gave a presentation on the Rotary Foundation and handed out donation forms. The Rotary Foundation has one of the best ratings as a charitable organization and operates with a little administrative cost.
The Rotary Foundation is set up in such a way that there are many beneficiaries. Clubs with a membership that regularly donate become eligible for District grants in their area.
Once a member donates $1,000, he or she is recognized with a Paul Harris Fellow Recognition certificate and pin. Each subsequent $1,000 total is rewarded with a different type of pin-up to a total of nine.
One of the goals of this year is to increase our Club giving to the Rotary Foundation.
